School timings revised again
The School Education Department has revised the timings of government schools for the third time in two weeks, issuing a new schedule that will take effect immediately from Monday, April 7, and will remain in place until October 15. This decision has been made with the approval of higher authorities and has already been implemented.
The purpose of this change is to ensure the convenience of students and teachers and to facilitate the smooth continuation of academic activities.
According to the new timings, single-shift schools will open at 7:30am and close at 1pm. On Fridays, school hours will be limited to 7:30am to 11:30am. In the case of double-shift or afternoon schools, the morning shift will run from 7:30am to 1pm, the evening shift will operate from 2pm to 6pm.
On Fridays, the evening shift will be from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. Timings for government school teachers have also been specified. Teachers are required to be present at school 15 minutes before the students.
In single-shift schools, teachers will report at 7:15am and remain on duty until 1:30 pm. On Fridays, their duty hours will be from 7:15am to 11:30am.
In double-shift schools, morning shift teachers will work from 7:15am to 1:30pm, evening shift teachers will be on duty from 1:45pm to 6:30pm.
