The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority has issued a heatwave alert for the province.
A heatwave is likely to hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) from April 14 to 18. During this time, the weather is likely to remain hot in some parts of the province during afternoon and night hours along with dusty winds.
Temperatures are expected to gradually increase during the day in most areas of the province from Monday. There is a possibility of an increase of four to six degrees Celsius during daytime hours.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a letter to district administrations and relevant institutions warning of hot and dry weather conditions which could cause heat strokes.
It also advises farmers to manage water properly for crops and the general public to take precautions when going outdoors in the daytime.
