Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar is going to meet officials of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) today at 11am ahead of hearing of the petitions filed against transfer of three judges from other high courts to the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
A constitutional bench (CB) of the Supreme Court is going to take up on April 14 the petitions filed against the transfer of the judges and the revision of the IHC judge's seniority list in the wake of the transfer. The IHCBA is also among the petitioners who have challenged the matter of judges' transfers.
IHCBA Secretary Manzoor Ahmed Jajja confirmed the meeting. "Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar will visit the IHCBA tomorrow [Saturday] and meet with representatives of the bar," Jajja said.
He said during the meeting, the IHCBA will present its demands including early completion of lawyers' chambers, the IHC building, and bar rooms as well as implementation of a rotation policy for judges in Islamabad's district judiciary.
