A man was killed and his uncle was seriously injured in a shooting incident over a land dispute in Lodhran on Friday.

The police said Malik Qasim, a resident of Mozah Khanpur, stated that his brother Nazeer Ahmed and nephew Muhammad Safdar were returning home from Dhanot on the night of April 10 when they were attacked by a group of men on motorcycles near Jeevan Chowk in Dhoraywala.

The attackers, who were relatives, allegedly opened fire on Nazeer and Safdar, killing Safdar on the spot and seriously injuring Nazeer, who was initially rushed to DHQ Hospital and then to Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur.

The police handed over Safdar's dead body to heirs after formalities and registered a case against eight individuals, including Sajawal, Muhammad Shahid, Bilal alias Ballo, Muhammad Fahad, Muhammad Zubair, Muhammad Asghar, Shahzad alias Ballo and Hafizur Rehman.
