Who’s attending the 2025 Met Gala? What we know so far

It's already the year’s most anticipated night in fashion.

The first Monday in May is fast approaching, and that can only mean one thing: Met Gala season is here. In just a few weeks, Vogue will roll out the iconic carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, setting the stage for a night filled with celebrities, designers, and unforgettable fashion moments.

Expect A-list debuts, emotional toasts, and, inevitably, at least one headline-making misstep atop the Met steps.

Here’s everything we know about who’s making the guest list this year.

What’s the Dress Code?

This year’s theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and the dress code is “Tailored for You.”

The Met’s Costume Institute exhibition was guest-curated by Monica Miller, a Barnard professor, chair of Africana Studies, and the author of Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

While some have expressed concerns over how certain guests might interpret the theme, many are celebrating the decision to put a Black female scholar at the forefront. As for how the guests will deliver on the red carpet?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Who’s Definitely on the Guest List?

The 2025 Met Gala co-chairs are a stacked lineup: Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and — of course — Anna Wintour. Joining them as an honorary co-chair is LeBron James, making his first-ever Met Gala appearance.

Typically, co-chairs get to bring a plus-one, so we might see Domingo’s husband, Raúl, and Williams’s wife, Helen Lasichanh.

As for Hamilton, his plus-one is a mystery — though given his past rumored flings with stars like Shakira and Sofia Vergara, it’s anyone’s guess. Perhaps he’ll bring his bulldog, Roscoe?

For the first time since 2019, Vogue is also reviving its tradition of a host committee, packed with big names: Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, Angel Reese, Sha’Carri Richardson, Ayo Edebiri, Audra McDonald, Jeremy Pope, Doechii, Usher, Tyla, Janelle Monáe, André 3000, Grace Wales Bonner, Edward Enninful, Olivier Rousteing, Dapper Dan, Spike and Tonya Lewis Lee, Regina King, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Jordan Casteel, Rashid Johnson, Kara Walker, Jeremy O. Harris, and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.

With a roster like that, it’s safe to assume most of them will be posing on the Met’s grand steps.

Who’s Likely to Attend?

Naturally, all eyes are on A$AP Rocky’s plus-one: Rihanna. After missing last year’s gala due to illness, fans are hoping she’ll make a triumphant return this year — especially with Rocky serving as co-chair.

According to Page Six, Shakira, Lizzo, Mary J. Blige, and models Amelia Gray and Ashley Graham are also expected to attend. The invite list is reportedly “heavy on athletes,” with college basketball star Paige Bueckers among those likely to show up.

And yes, we’re fully expecting at least one Kardashian sighting. Kim Kardashian hasn’t missed a Met Gala since 2012, and it’s rumored she’s already working on a vintage-inspired look. Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kris Jenner could also appear. Imagine the possibilities: Kylie and Timothée Chalamet on the carpet? Maybe even Zuckerberg as Kim’s date? We’ll have to wait and see.

Who Might Make a Surprise Appearance?

There’s a chance last year’s co-chairs — Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, Bad Bunny, and Zendaya — could return. Zendaya, who stole the show with two stunning looks in 2024, hasn’t confirmed her attendance yet, but fans are holding out hope.

Who’s Definitely Skipping?

Sadly, a few big names won’t be making it this year.

Page Six reports that Rachel Zegler was invited but will be busy in London, rehearsing for her role in Evita.

Also missing: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, two of Anna Wintour’s favorites. According to TMZ, their absence has “nothing to do with the ongoing It Ends With Us legal saga.”

Gisele Bündchen will also be skipping the festivities.

As TMZ reports, she’s staying home with her boyfriend, jujitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, and their newborn baby. After a memorable solo appearance in 2023 post-divorce, fans will have to wait a little longer for another show-stopping Gisele moment.

What About Taylor Swift?

Taylor Swift hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2016, when she co-chaired the event.

A lot has changed in nine years — including her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, who many believe might be preparing to propose.

With her Eras Tour officially wrapped and her schedule somewhat quieter, the Met Gala could be the perfect place for Swift to make a glamorous comeback — and maybe, just maybe, show off a new piece of jewelry.
