Shaheen Shah Afridi and Babar Azam previewed the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), focusing on team preparation, young talent, and the rising competitiveness of the tournament set to begin April 11.

Speaking during the captains’ conference ahead of PSL 10, Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi expressed confidence in the younger players joining his squad and the importance of the league in developing national talent.

“I am excited about the young players in Lahore Qalandars,” said Afridi, adding that the platform allows emerging cricketers to grow into international contenders.

Despite the pressures of defending their title, Afridi remained upbeat. “Mistakes happen to humans; we will enjoy the PSL,” he stated.

He stressed the connection between domestic cricket and PSL selection: “After playing domestic cricket, one is selected for the PSL,” he noted.

Afridi also lauded the rise of Haris Rauf as an example of the league's success in unearthing talent. “The Pakistan Super League is our own league; it needs support,” he added.

Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam echoed the sentiment on league growth, saying, “All franchises in the Pakistan Super League are balanced,” while noting each side’s efforts to build top-quality squads.

“Each franchise in the PSL tries to make the best squad,” said Babar, indicating that this season is expected to be one of the most competitive yet.
