The Punjab School Education Department on Wednesday issued instructions to all government and private schools across the province to implement a revised dress code policy prohibiting teachers and students from wearing jeans, T-shirts and jackets.
According to sources in the department, the initiative aims to promote discipline and maintain decorum in educational institutions.
Under the new rules, male students are required to wear formal dress shirts and pants, while female students must use modest attire, which includes the mandatory use of a dupatta.
Additionally, jeans are now prohibited for female students.
Similarly, all female teachers must wear shalwar kameez with a dupatta.
