HBL PSL X set to kick off in Rawalpindi on Friday

Defending champions Islamabad United to face Lahore Qalandars as HBL PSL X begins on April 11.

The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) X is all set to begin with a glittering opening ceremony at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Friday, marking the first time the venue hosts the league’s inaugural game.

The grand ceremony will kick off at 7:00 pm, featuring an electrifying lineup of performances, including Sufi legend Abida Parveen, a cultural showcase by Ali Zafar, and a contemporary set by Young Stunners. The anthem performers—Abrar ul Haq, Natasha Baig, Talha Anjum, and Ali Zafar—will also take the stage, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

Following the ceremony, the opening match will see defending champions Islamabad United face off against two-time winners Lahore Qalandars. The first ball is scheduled to be bowled at 8:30 pm.

This year’s PSL promises action-packed cricket with 34 matches across four iconic venues:

Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium (13 matches, including both Eliminators and the Final)

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium (11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13)

Karachi’s National Bank Stadium (5 matches)

Multan Cricket Stadium (5 matches)

The tournament will run from April 11 to May 18, with the grand final hosted at Lahore’s historic Gaddafi Stadium on May 18.

The schedule includes three double-headers, two of which fall on Saturdays and one on Labour Day (May 1), giving fans a full day of cricket entertainment.
