The funeral took place at St. Philip AME Church, where hundreds of mourners gathered to honor the late artist. The ceremony featured a symbolic release of white doves and a sea of mourners dressed in green, a color that had become closely associated with Scooter. His son paid tribute by wearing a custom chain in memory of his father.

A public viewing was also held at Donald Trimble Mortuary in Decatur, where local community members came to offer their respects.

Scooter died on March 28 after sustaining a fatal injury while attempting to flee from Atlanta police. The incident began when authorities responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at a residence. Upon arrival, Scooter attempted to escape, clearing two fences before injuring himself on a third. He suffered a severe puncture wound to his right thigh from a wooden fence, causing fatal blood loss. Despite efforts to save him at the scene, he was later pronounced dead at Grady Hospital.

The emergency call that led to the police response was later determined to be a false alarm. Demetria Spence was arrested and charged with transmitting a false public alarm.

Young Scooter's final resting place will be in his hometown of Walterboro, South Carolina. His passing has left a deep impact on the community, with many mourning the loss of a talented and beloved artist.
