Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has launched a scathing attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following the national team’s string of poor performances across all formats.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Basit Ali criticised the PCB and its selection committee for what he described as a consistent “flop show” from the Champions Trophy 2025 to the recent series against New Zealand.

Pakistan lost both the T20I (1–4) and ODI (0–3) series during their tour of New Zealand, adding to earlier disappointments in the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Champions Trophy.

“The selection committee should resign. They don’t know how to make teams. Even the tomato seller knows more than you,” Ali said, targeting the lack of spin options chosen for the Champions Trophy.

He also called for the removal of current coaching staff and questioned the overall leadership structure within the team setup.

Ali further criticised Aaqib Javed, stating, “If you stay for four more months, you’ll lose to Bangladesh as well.”

Basit, who played 19 Tests and 50 ODIs for Pakistan, also served as coach for Pakistan's A team (reserves). He also spoke about how Pakistan's batters needing experience with 'power hitting.'

"PSL should be considered as a 10-over affair," Ali said.
