
Police have registered a case against singer Salman Ahmed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly spreading "anti-state propaganda" on social media, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The FIR, filed by Sub-Inspector Akram Hussain, accuses the singer who has over 265,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter) of sharing "hateful content" targeting state institutions and national security.
