LAHORE:

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, while addressing an emergency press conference at Mansoora, Lahore, strongly condemned Israeli aggression in Palestine, the silence of the Muslim world, and the apathy of the international community.

He stated that the true face of Western powers and Muslim regimes supporting Israel has now been exposed. Announcing a nationwide solidarity campaign, he said Jamaat-e-Islami will organize protest marches across the country in support of the Palestinian people.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman announced that protest rallies will be held outside US embassies on April 11 in Lahore, April 13 in Karachi, and April 20 in Islamabad to send a strong message to the world against Israeli atrocities in Palestine.

Criticizing Muslim rulers, he said, "Had there been any honor and courage left in the Muslim world, Israel would not have dared to commit such barbarism." He warned that aligning with the Zionist regime and making deals under US patronage would not ensure the safety of Muslim countries. "The oppression is not limited to Gaza alone; Israel has demolished over 80,000 homes in the West Bank, imprisoned thousands, and is committing genocide," he added.

He said that those betraying the Ummah by collaborating with Zionists are causing irreparable harm, and it is the collective responsibility of the Muslim world to raise its voice for Al-Quds and the Palestinian people.

Commenting on the government’s recent move to reduce electricity bills, Hafiz Naeem termed it insufficient, stating that the public is suffering from inflation and economic hardship while the government is only taking cosmetic measures.

Responding to a question, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said Jamaat-e-Islami will send a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General in the coming months, highlighting Israeli aggression and terrorism in Palestine in an effort to awaken the global conscience.

He also demanded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarify reports regarding a Pakistani delegation allegedly visiting Israel. He said that if such individuals exist, they should be arrested and interrogated about who authorized them to engage in dialogue with Israelis, which is against the official policy of the state.

Hafiz Naeem further appealed to prominent scholars like Mufti Taqi Usmani, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, and others to provide Shariah guidance on the issue of jihad in light of the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza, so that Muslim rulers may be compelled to take concrete action in support of the Palestinian people.
