As The White Lotus nears its thrilling 90-minute finale in Thailand, fans are already speculating about where the hit show will head next. Following its previous seasons set in Hawaii and Sicily, the big question on everyone’s mind is: where will season four take place?
While creator Mike White remains tight-lipped, insiders reveal that producers are eyeing Four Seasons resorts in both Africa and Australia.
Among the top contenders is Marrakech, Morocco, which is emerging as the front-runner for the next chapter of the series.
A source at HBO, who was recently in a meeting with White, shared some intriguing insights: “Mike wants to do a series of White Lotus on every continent. He’s done Hawaii, Italy, and now Thailand. He hates snow, so the likelihood is Africa or Australia. No one thinks it will be Antarctica.”
According to the source, Season four has already been commissioned, and Africa is the favourite. It has everything White Lotus fans expect — heat, exotic locations, and dramatic backdrops.”
Marrakech, with its heat, cultural richness, and stunning scenery, could be the perfect setting. The Four Seasons Resort in Marrakech is reportedly a strong contender, offering an elegant blend of Moorish gardens, vibrant souks, and magnificent views of the Atlas Mountains.
The resort’s 40-acre property in the city’s medina, surrounded by Yves Saint Laurent gardens and a kasbah, could provide a breathtaking backdrop for the show’s usual blend of luxury and intrigue.
While Morocco seems to be a prime location, there are other possibilities being explored. The Mail on Sunday notes that White has also shown interest in filming at the Four Seasons in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
A source close to HBO added, “Mike loves the idea of going to Africa. He was talking about Egypt and a safari. There are several possible locations under consideration.”
Despite some rumors suggesting Mexico as a possible filming destination, the insider confirmed, “Mike did Hawaii. I’d be surprised if he goes back to the Americas.” And while Norway was mentioned in some circles as a contender, the source dismissed it, saying, “Don’t think that’s true. Mike hates the cold.”
This season’s finale, which is poised to attract up to 100 million viewers worldwide, has become one of the most talked-about TV events of the year, with fans eagerly awaiting the shocking conclusion of the drama.
And now, as the current season ends, eyes are already on where The White Lotus will set its next chapter.
