The death of a pregnant woman in Karachi, initially believed to be the result of a robbery, has taken a new turn after police arrested her husband for allegedly giving misleading information.

The incident, which occurred in the Faqeer Goth area, was first reported as a fatal shooting during a robbery attempt. However, investigators now say that the evidence does not support this claim.

According to police officials, the woman was shot two days prior to the report and not during an outdoor robbery. They say forensic and circumstantial evidence suggests the shooting happened inside her home.

The woman's husband, who initially claimed she died during a confrontation with robbers, is now in police custody. Authorities say he later admitted to having an argument with his wife before she was shot.

The husband told police that during the dispute, his wife shot herself with a pistol. However, officers have raised doubts over the authenticity of this version.

Police also revealed that the man misled investigators about the location of the shooting and attempted to destroy evidence from the house.

A weapon recovered from the home was found to be unlicensed, officials added.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of homicide.
