MANSEHRA:

In a tragic incident in Manshera, a woman was shot and killed along with her 16-month-old daughter in the name of honour. According to sources, Rabia, who had married Muhammad Umar four years ago, was residing near the Lahore Hotel. The couple had a 16-month-old daughter. Umar, her husband, was working in Saudi Arabia.

On Friday, during the time of the Friday prayers, Rabia's family allegedly went to Umar's house and shot Rabia and her daughter in what they claimed was an "honour killing," accusing her of marrying a man who was not from their family.

The bodies were taken to King Abdullah Hospital for a post-mortem, where authorities prevented anyone from removing the body.

Regarding the incident, police informed local journalists that after a jirga (tribal council) meeting at the King Abdullah Hospital police station, it was decided that instead of handing over the deceased's body to her in-laws, it would be given to the alleged perpetrators.
