Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza expressed displeasure over the presence of garbage at certain points in Wagah Town on Saturday.
During a visit to various locations to assess the sanitation conditions, he issued strict instructions to Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) officials to implement the cleanliness measures.
The inspection focused on evaluating cleanliness efforts at locations including the Quaid-i-Azam Interchange, Rampura, Canal Road, Qasim Road and surrounding areas.
The assistant commissioner of Wagah briefed the DC on the sanitation mechanism and operations in the area.
"The LWMC authorities must clear identified garbage points on a priority basis and ensure that such negligence is not repeated," the deputy commissioner warned.
"Citizens must dispose of waste in designated bins and refrain from throwing garbage in open areas," he added.
He also directed officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to immediately repair damaged sewerage lines and cover open manholes, emphasising that negligence in these matters would not be tolerated.
He also instructed the metropolitan corporation to continue indiscriminate operations against encroachments across the city. "Not even an inch of encroachment will be tolerated," he asserted.
He emphasised that administration officers must remain active in the field and closely monitor the performance of the field teams to ensure visible results.
The DC also visited the Manawan Teaching Hospital to inspect the administration, emergency services and overall management of medical facilities.
He was briefed on the healthcare services, staff availability and infrastructure of the institution.
The official toured various sections of the hospital and examined the availability and supply of essential medicines, cleanliness standards and the attendance of doctors and paramedical staff.
He asked the attendants of patients about the quality of services and addressed their concerns.
DC Musa Raza directed the hospital administration to continue working diligently to uphold public trust in the healthcare system.
