Area sealed completely, citizens not allowed to enter

KARACHI:

The intensity of the fire in Korangi Creek is still high. The process of consultation with the senior technical staff of the Military Lands Cantonment, Karachi Region, is ongoing.

According to Cantonment Board officials, an underground fire in the Korangi Creek area still on for unknown reasons. Despite the efforts so far, the intensity has not decreased.

A visit was made by an oil, gas and petroleum fire expert in recent days. The CEO of the Cantonment Board is also taking a briefing from the senior technical staff of the Military Lands Cantonment Karachi Region. Cantonment Board officials have deployed its teams at the fire site to deal with any emergency.

All the staff of the Military Lands Cantonment Karachi Region are present while the region's fire tenders are also present at the site.

Cantonment Board official further said that the fire-affected area has been completely closed for any access. Citizens are not allowed to enter the area.

Every possible means is being used to prevent any damage. Surveys are also ongoing by Sui Gas officials and Pakistan Refinery Limited teams.
