Ayesha Howard responds to gold digger claims amid custody battle with Anthony Edwards over daughter
Ayesha Howard, who shares children with NBA player Anthony Edwards and rapper Lil Baby, has pushed back against accusations that she is financially motivated in her relationships. The social media personality has faced online criticism labeling her a “gold digger” amid a legal dispute with Edwards over their daughter, born in October 2024.

Howard called reports that Edwards paid her over $1 million in advance for 18 years of child support “fake news,” insisting no such legal agreement had ever been made. She also dismissed suggestions that her move to California was financially strategic, saying she relocated based on practicality as she and her child are based there.
In September 2024, Edwards filed a paternity and child support case in Georgia, requesting a genetic test. Howard responded by filing a separate action in California, citing residence in the state. Edwards later accused her of trying to exploit the legal system for higher child support payments—a claim she has strongly denied.
Beyond the courtroom, Howard has also addressed personal tensions between her and Edwards. In February 2025, she alleged that Edwards had pressured her to terminate the pregnancy. She posted screenshots of messages she claimed were from Edwards, in which he appeared hesitant about being involved in the child’s life. Howard criticized his stance, stating that fatherhood doesn’t come with an opt-out and emphasized a woman’s right to choose.
The case has drawn significant attention online. While some social media users have questioned Howard’s intentions, others have defended her and called for a more critical look at Edwards' role as a father.
Amid the backlash, Howard posted a defiant message on April 3 that went viral: “Not my fault I’m beautiful and have a nice body,” as shared by @mymixtapez on X.
