Police arrested two absconding thieves injured in exchange of fire during surge in Eid-time theft incidents. In the same time period, two people were reported to have died due to electrocution.

On the first day of Eidul Fitr, four armed motorcyclists robbed a citizen at gunpoint on the Faizabad flyover and fled towards Islamabad Murree Road while firing aimlessly. After going some distance, the accused's motorcycle ran out of fuel. They set up a roadblock on the spot and snatched a motorcycle from a passerby and used it to flee towards Khanna police station. Meanwhile, a police party was in hot pursuit of the accused, reached them and they opened fire. During the exchange of fire, two robbers were injured and arrested by the police. However, the remaining two accused escaped.

Citizens across the federal capital were robbed of valuables in 10 incidents of street crime during Eid. As part of the series of theft, two accused snatched Rs25,000 and a mobile phone set from a citizen at gunpoint in the limits of Sabzi Mandi police station. While two armed men in the area of I-9 police station made away with cash and a motorcycle.

In other incidents, cash, motorcycle and cars were snatched from citizens at gunpoint within the jurisdictions of Sangjani, Lohi Bher, Noon, Shalimar, Sihala and Khanna police stations.
