Gold prices reach record high in Pakistan as international rates surge

The bullion market had been closed during the Eid holidays but resumed activity as prices surged.

Gold prices in Pakistan reached a new all-time high on Thursday, following a rise in international gold rates.

The price of gold per tola surged to Rs325,500, marking an increase of Rs500 in just one day.

In the 10-gram segment, gold was sold at Rs279,063, reflecting an increase of Rs428, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The bullion market had been closed during the Eid holidays but resumed activity as prices surged.

Globally, the price of gold also saw a rise, with the international rate reaching $3,089 per ounce, marking an increase of $5 during the day.

Meanwhile, the price of silver remained stable at Rs3,580 per tola.
