RAWALPINDI:

An enraged man shot dead his colleague's 14-year-old son in Mohalla Babu Gulab area within the jurisdiction of Gujar Khan police station in Rawalpindi after suspecting that he had complained against him and gotten him fired from his job. The police have registered a case.

According to the police, Adil Mehmood stated that he had been working at the Royal Goods Adda (Stand) for 26 years, where his colleague Mamoon had also been employed for the past three months. However, due to frequent disputes with his colleagues and inappropriate behaviour at work, the Adda's owners sacked Mamoon a week ago.

Mehmood reported that on March 28, while he was sitting at a hotel, Mamoon had come and threatened him, saying, "You got me fired from my job, so I will not spare you and your children alive."

Then last night, while Mehmood was home with his family, there was a knock on their door. His 14-year-old son, Adeel Adil, went to answer it, and suddenly, a commotion was heard, and when he rushed outside, he found Mamoon arguing with his son. When he tried to intervene, Mamoon pulled out a pistol and started firing. His son was shot in the abdomen during the firing. He succumbed to his injuries before they could reach the hospital. Meanwhile, the accused fled the scene while continuing to shout out threats and brandishing his gun.

According to police officials, a case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the accused, who will be apprehended soon.
