To facilitate tourists during Eidul Fitr holidays, Abbottabad Traffic Police have decided to suspend the issuance of challans for three days. Challan devices will remain inactive, ensuring no tourist is fined during this period.
The decision was made during an important meeting on Thursday, during which special traffic management measures were discussed to ensure smooth traffic flow during Eid.
DSP Headquarters, DSP Traffic, DSP Mandian, DSP Havelian, Inspector Traffic, and other senior traffic police officials, including the in-charges of the Main Control Room and Traffic Control Room, attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, SSP Traffic Warden, Tariq Mahmood Khan, announced that all traffic police staff leaves have been canceled for Eid, and officers will remain on duty. Special facilitation centres will be set up to assist tourists, ensuring they do not face any difficulties.
He further directed that strict discipline and respectful behaviour must be maintained toward tourists and citizens. "Rudeness or immoral behaviour will not be tolerated, and traffic flow must be ensured at all times to prevent congestion," he emphasized.
Moreover, traffic police personnel will be present throughout the city to assist the public in case of emergencies. Citizens and tourists were urged to follow traffic rules and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure a hassle-free Eid experience.
