Sahibzada Farhan, who shattered multiple records in the National T20 Cup, has earned a call-up to the Islamabad United squad for the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The defending champions confirmed his addition on Friday, naming Farhan as their 20th squad member in the supplementary category.

Farhan, who began his PSL career with Islamabad United in 2018 as an emerging player, brings with him a wealth of domestic experience.

He previously played for Lahore Qalandars in PSL 9, but his recent record-breaking performances in the National T20 Cup have earned him this call-up.

“We are pleased to announce Sahibzada Farhan as our 20th squad member for HBL PSL X,” the franchise stated.

Farhan's exceptional form in the domestic circuit, including his pivotal role in United’s second PSL title win, has now led to his rejoining the team for PSL 10.

Head coach Mike Hesson praised Farhan’s domestic experience and form, noting that the team’s focus is on building bench strength. “Sahibzada’s domestic form and experience make him someone who can slot into the XI whenever required and deliver,” Hesson added.

Despite remaining unpicked during the PSL 10 draft in January, Farhan’s record-breaking display in the National T20 Cup caught the eye. He scored a total of 605 runs in just seven innings, including three centuries, setting a new record for the most runs in a single edition of the competition.

His remarkable knock of 162* also became the joint third-highest score in T20 history, making him only the fifth batter globally to smash three centuries in a T20 tournament.
