Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar on Thursday chaired the inaugural meeting of a committee formed under a revised National Action Plan (NAP) amid a recent surge in terrorism in the country on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The committee has been established to assess counterterrorism measures, address violent extremism, and fill legal gaps.
The meeting was attended by provincial law ministers and the federal secretary for law, who appreciated the federal government's criminal justice reforms. It was collectively decided to work on legal reforms on an urgent basis to ensure swift justice.
