Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has imposed a ban on unauthorised photography and videography during aircraft maintenance operations, citing security and confidentiality concerns.

In a statement issued, the airline said it had observed individuals taking photos and videos without approval during maintenance activities.

“This is a serious breach of confidentiality and poses significant security risks,” the PIA spokesperson said.

To uphold high levels of security and privacy, the airline has instructed that only authorised personnel — such as aircraft engineers or members of the designated safety team — may take visual records during such operations.

All other individuals, including Ground Handling Agents (GHAs) and airline operator staff, are strictly prohibited from taking any photographs or videos.

PIA warned that any violation of the directive would result in strict administrative and disciplinary action.
