Indian singer Neha Kakkar found herself in the spotlight for an emotional moment at her recent concert in Melbourne, where she arrived nearly three hours late, sparking backlash from fans. Videos from the event, showing Neha in tears and apologising on stage, quickly went viral on social media.
In response to the controversy, Neha’s brother and fellow singer Tony Kakkar took to Instagram to defend her, shedding light on the circumstances that allegedly led to her delayed arrival.
Without naming specific organisers, Tony suggested that the event was marred by poor planning and mismanagement. In his post, he posed a hypothetical situation:
“Imagine I invite you to my city and take charge of all your arrangements—from your airport pickup to hotel stay and concert commute. But when you land, you find that there are no bookings—no car, no hotel, nothing. Who should be held responsible?”
Through this pointed analogy, Tony indirectly blamed the event organisers for failing to make basic arrangements, saying the chaos left Neha to face the consequences alone.
Despite her on-stage apology and visible distress, the incident continues to stir debate online. While some fans have expressed support for the singer, others have criticised the lack of professionalism. The organisers, meanwhile, have yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
