Jonah Platt, son of Snow White producer Marc Platt, claimed in a now-deleted Instagram post that Rachel Zegler’s use of her platform to voice political opinions negatively affected the film’s box office performance. He criticised the actress for, in his words, “dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting a movie.”

In response to a comment on Instagram, Platt confirmed that his father flew to New York City during the film’s promotional campaign to confront Zegler about a post where she wrote “and always remember, free palestine.” According to a report by Variety, that meeting did not result in the post being removed.

“Yeah, my dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for,” Platt wrote.

He added, “This is called adult responsibility and accountability. And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office.”

Platt also addressed the broader impact of Zegler’s actions, saying, “Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions.”

According to Variety, Zegler later shared additional political posts such as “F*ck Donald Trump” and “May Trump supporters … never know peace,” prompting Disney to bring in a social media consultant to monitor her online presence.
