The Lahore High Court has dismissed a plea as withdrawn after former provincial minister Murad Rass was given a clean chit by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which closed an inquiry in a prohibited funding case.
Petitioner Murad Rass had contended in his intra-court appeal that the FIA had sent him notices without going into facts, alleging that the inquiry was politically motivated that had nothing to do with reality.
He requested the court to set aside an LHC single bench decision to dismiss his application. He also prayed the court to dismiss the FIA notice issued to him.
The FIA told the court that Rass is no longer required and the inquiry against him had been closed down.
In response to FIA's statement, the petitioner withdrew his petition, following which the LHC dismissed it as withdrawn.
