In yet another tragic traffic accident, a lost their lives when a speeding car hit their motorcycle near PAF Base on Shahrae Faisal.
The motorist was driving at such a high speed that the impact threw the victims off the road sending them flying through the air on the ground. They died instantly.
Enraged bystanders caught the driver and beat him mercilessly. However, a police mobile reached the spot and wrestled Aneeq Ayaz free from the mob, took him to the Sharae Faisal police station where he was arrested and booked for culpable homicide.
Meanwhile Chhipa volunteers moved the bodies to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities. The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Ayaz and his 25-year-old wife, Aqsa. Speaking to the media at Jinnah Hospital, Aqsa's elderly father, Naseem, expressed his grief, saying, "Yesterday, someone else suffered. Today, it's us. Tomorrow, it will be someone else. The law is for sale, and there is no one to listen." He revealed that he has three daughters, with Aqsa being the eldest. She worked as a teacher, while her husband was employed at a factory.
An eyewitness stated that the speeding car struck the motorcycle standing at the roadside, leaving the couple no chance to evade the crash. As a result, the couple was flung off the road into the dirt.
