Islamabad's Capital Development Authority (CDA) Officers Association has condemned the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) cases against CDA officers and employees, terming them "illegal". The association demanded that the CDA chairman provide full protection to the officers and employees, as they work tirelessly for the development and beauty of Islamabad.
The association's executive body held an emergency meeting, presided over by General Secretary Naimatullah Masood, where they declared the FIA-registered cases against CDA officers and employees as "illegal" and expressed concern over the move. They said that the authority is an autonomous organisation with its own rules, regulations, and disciplinary procedures. Therefore, referring its employees to external agencies is not only unjust but also raises questions about the internal accountability process.
The meeting unanimously passed a resolution, demanding the CDA chairman to provide full protection to CDA officers and employees, conduct all future inquiries according to CDA's internal system, and prevent unnecessary interference from external agencies.
The association also demanded the immediate release of CDA employees in FIA custody and those named in unfair cases.
