Ryan Reynolds under fire for making daughter deliver explicit line in Deadpool & Wolverine cameo

Ryan Reynolds faces backlash after revealing 7-year-old daughter Inez delivered explicit line in Deadpool.

Ryan Reynolds is facing backlash after revealing his 7-year-old daughter, Inez, delivered an explicit line in Deadpool & Wolverine, where she made a brief cameo as “Kidpool.” The line, which referenced adult content involving Hugh Jackman’s character Wolverine, was reportedly rehearsed between 70 and 500 times.

Reynolds shared the detail during the film’s official commentary track, jokingly referring to himself as “father of the year.” He explained that Inez was initially uncomfortable with the dialogue but agreed to say it after he suggested someone else might take the role.

Following the release of the commentary, clips circulated widely online, sparking concern over the appropriateness of involving a young child in such content. Many social media users criticized both Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, for supporting the decision.

The timing of this controversy overlaps with another high-profile issue involving Reynolds—his legal entanglement with director Justin Baldoni. Lively previously accused Baldoni, who directed her in It Ends With Us, of misconduct, leading to a defamation lawsuit. Reynolds, who publicly called Baldoni a “predator,” has since filed a motion to be removed from the $400 million suit, stating he was only supporting his spouse.

Reynolds has stood by his remarks, citing Baldoni’s past public statements—including his admission of a struggle with pornography addiction—as part of the reasoning behind his criticism.

While Deadpool & Wolverine has achieved commercial success, the controversy around Inez’s role has stirred broader debate about boundaries in family involvement and the responsibilities of public figures in creative work.
