Javeria Saud, an actress, writer, and host, has found herself in the spotlight after defending a wazifa (prescribed prayers) shared by Maulana Azad Jamil on her Ramadan transmission show.
The wazifa, which suggests writing Zam Zam with finger on an electricity meter to reduce electricity bills, has circulated and sparked a heated debate online.
The video, features Javeria Saud sharing her thoughts on the matter. While she admits she cannot confirm the effectiveness of the practice, she maintains that if done with true belief (aqeedat), it might work.
Despite her perspective, many critics on social media have slammed both the wazifa and Saud’s defence, accusing her of ignorance by endorsing superstition.
