Karachi Kings, the HBL PSL franchise representing Pakistan's largest city, has officially named former Australian batter David Warner as the captain for the upcoming season of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Warner, known for his aggressive batting style and leadership skills, will lead the Kings in what is expected to be an exciting and competitive season.

Warner, a World Cup winner and one of the most explosive T20 openers in the game, brings with him extensive leadership experience. Having captained in various global leagues, including the Big Bash League (BBL), Warner is expected to bring fresh energy and a wealth of knowledge to the Karachi Kings. His selection as the first pick in the HBL PSL 2025 Players Draft, held on January 13, 2025, in Lahore, highlights the franchise's trust in his abilities.

The Karachi Kings management also took the opportunity to thank Shan Masood, who led the team last season. Masood played a key role in reshaping the team, blending youthful talent with seasoned experience. His leadership in HBL PSL 9 helped lay a solid foundation for the team's future success. The franchise praised his professionalism and tactical insight, noting his importance in creating a cohesive unit.

Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal expressed his excitement about Warner's appointment, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome David Warner to the Karachi Kings family as our new captain. The HBL Pakistan Super League Season 10 is set to begin on April 11, 2025, with the Karachi Kings playing their first match the following day, on April 12, 2025. They will face Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, marking the start of their campaign under David Warner's leadership.
