As part of Vogue's Beauty Secrets series, Hollywood actor Amanda Seyfried shared her unfiltered beauty routine on YouTube. After kicking off the routine by drinking some celery juice, she addressed the spots on her skin head-on. "You might be thinking, 'What's that on her face?' That's my eczema. I suffer from perioral dermatitis."
Seyfried shared that she developed the rash when she was about 19 years old, which led her to discovering medicated products. While gently applying a bar soap to her face, she said, "And the rash is screaming. But that's okay because I'm going to cover it, so I can go out in public. It's funny how eczema makes you feel."
After cleansing her face, the Mean Girls actor applied medicated cream on the redness along her smile lines. "Now, I'm going to use this toner - Tonique Confort," she added, before dabbing the product onto her face.
She then gently rubbed Versine Serum over her face. "All of this does go over the medicine because the medicine penetrates first," she clarified. The In Time actor then applied a boosted contouring eye balm.
Another essential part of Seyfried's routine is the Lancome Renergie Peptide Cream, which provides her fill of SPF. She wrapped up her skincare by applying generous amounts of the product on her face and neck.
Moving on to the other phase of her beauty routine, she began by curling her "straight" eyelashes. "Yeah, it's a bummer. I don't let other people do it because they sometimes pinch my eyelids."
After coating her lips with a lip balm that left a "healthy" pink stain, the Mamma Mia! actor introduced the Teint Idole concealer, which she "can't live without", especially as someone who doesn't frequently apply foundation.
Splattering the concealer around her lips and under her eyes, she said, "I also have really red eyelids, and you would think I'd want to cover those up. But it's like natural eyeshadow, so I'm going to embrace it."
Seyfried has picked up the habit of doing her own makeup after years of understanding what works best for her skin. She also added that her routine is "pretty low maintenance" and that she prefers to keep the steps at a minimum.
The next step was touching up the eyebrows and tapping the concealer one last time. Then she moved onto her "secret weapon", a liquid blush by Salzburg, after which she brushed up her eyelashes with the Flutter Extension Idole Mascara. She finished off the look by a smudge of matte lipstick and a spray of the Bronze Gold Mist.
Flaunting her freshly done hair, she concluded, "I know I have good hair. But with good hair comes eczema. You know, it has to balance out the scales."
