India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a closure report, clearing actress Rhea Chakraborty, her family, and others from any involvement in the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The CBI concluded that there was no evidence to support claims of abetment to suicide, and therefore, sought to close the case.

The closure report, filed in court on Friday, also absolves Sushant’s sister Priyanka, Rhea’s parents, and her brother Showik Chakraborty, along with a doctor mentioned in a counter-FIR.

This decision follows an investigation initiated after a complaint from Rajput's father, which had accused Rhea and others of causing his son’s death.

In response to the news, Showik Chakraborty shared a video on Instagram showing him walking with Rhea, captioning it with "Satyamev Jayate" (Truth alone triumphs), expressing his relief and appreciation for the outcome.

Both siblings were previously arrested in 2020 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) over allegations of drug-related offences, but those charges remain separate from the CBI’s investigation.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death on June 14, 2020, initially led to an Accidental Death Report (ADR) by the Mumbai Police.

However, his passing sparked a massive media frenzy and multiple investigations, including by the CBI and NCB. Rajput, known for his roles in films, was 34 years old at the time of his death.
