Tiger Woods has confirmed his relationship with Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., by sharing affectionate photos on Instagram.
The 15-time major golf champion, 49, posted two images of the couple on Sunday, March 23, making their relationship public for the first time. One picture showed them embracing, while the other captured them seated together in a lounge chair.
"Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together," Woods wrote in the caption, adding, "At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts."
Reports of the relationship first surfaced earlier in March, with reports confirming on March 13 that the pair had been dating for several months. The Daily Mail was the first to report the news.
Vanessa, 47, was married to Donald Trump Jr. for 12 years before their divorce in 2018. The former couple share daughter Kai, 17, and son Donald III, 16. Woods has two children, son Charlie, 16, and daughter Sam, 17, with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren.
The couple has been seen together at multiple golf events, with their children competing in the same junior tournaments. They attended the Genesis Invitational in February, where Woods accompanied Vanessa and Kai. Kai, a standout junior golfer, is set to play for the University of Miami next year.
Just days later, Woods was honoured at the White House by Vanessa’s former father-in-law, Donald Trump, during a Black History Month reception.
Sources close to the couple suggest their shared commitment to their children’s golf careers played a key role in their connection.
"Their kids are going places in golf and both very disciplined about the sport. They have that in common," as stated by People Magazine.
Another source noted Vanessa's past relationships, adding, "She has always gone for guys who are well known or have something big going for them. But she is private, smart, and a good mother. That comes first in her life."
