Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong on Sunday reaffirmed China's steadfast commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan, stressing shared cultural exchanges, economic collaboration and unwavering mutual support through history.
Held on Pakistan Day, the exhibition served as a platform to showcase artistic dialogue between China and Pakistan.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the "Esthetic Bridges" exhibition, the envoy stressed that such cultural initiatives embodied the spirit of the Global Civilisation Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, fostering exchanges and mutual learning among diverse cultures.
He extended warm congratulations to Pakistan on its national day, recalling his presence at last year's parade where the Pakistani crowd warmly cheered as the Chinese People's Liberation Army contingent marched past.
"At that moment, I deeply felt the warmth of China-Pakistan friendship taking root and growing among the younger generation," he said.
"We stand firmly together, continuing and passing down the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan. On this day 85 years ago, the resolution to establish an independent Muslim country was adopted, marking the beginning of the Pakistani people's great journey towards development and prosperity."
He noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan in 1951, "we have always stood together and supported each other through thick and thin".
He recalled that Pakistan has consistently supported China through crucial moments.
