Sahibzada Farhan set a new record in the National T20 Cup with a blistering 162 not out off 72 balls, surpassing Kamran Akmal’s long-standing highest individual score in the tournament. His unbeaten knock powered Peshawar to a commanding 239 in 20 overs against Quetta at Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Farhan’s innings, which included 14 fours and 11 sixes, eclipsed Akmal’s 150 off 71 balls* for Lahore Whites against Islamabad in 2017. It now stands as the highest individual score in National T20 Cup history.

Farhan’s knock also places him among the highest individual scores in T20 cricket, tied at third with Hamilton Masakadza and Hazratullah Zazai, who both scored 162*.
The all-time highest score in the format remains Chris Gayle’s 175 for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in the IPL*, followed by Aaron Finch’s 172 for Australia against Zimbabwe.
Batting first, Peshawar capitalised on Farhan’s dominance to post a formidable 239. The 29-year-old, who had already registered two half-centuries and a century in the tournament, now holds the record for the highest individual T20 score in Pakistan.
Quetta, in response, struggled against Peshawar’s bowling attack and were dismissed for 113 in 19.3 overs. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai top-scored with 46 off 47 balls, but wickets fell at regular intervals. Usman Tariq (4-0-17-4), Nizar Ali (4-0-22-3) and Mohammad Imran Jr. (3.3-0-11-2) led the bowling effort to seal a dominant victory.
Peshawar, now through to the quarter-finals, will face Faisalabad Region at Iqbal Stadium on March 24.
