Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Altaf Ahmed Bhat, has extended warm felicitations to the people and government of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day, being celebrated today.

In a statement, Bhat underscored the historic significance of the Lahore Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, which laid the foundation for the creation of Pakistan. He stated that this momentous occasion continues to inspire oppressed nations, including the people of Jammu and Kashmir, in their ongoing struggle for self-determination.

The JKSM leader expressed profound gratitude to Pakistan for its unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmir cause. He commended Pakistan's consistent efforts in advocating for the rights of Kashmiris on international platforms, asserting that a stable and prosperous Pakistan is pivotal for a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Reaffirming the deep historical and ideological connection between Pakistan and Kashmir, Bhat emphasised that the Kashmiri people see their struggle as a continuation of the Pakistan Movement.

He added that the time has come for Pakistan to take practical steps for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir, along with political, diplomatic, and moral support.
