Haris Rauf became the latest Pakistan bowler to reach 200 international wickets, achieving the milestone during the third T20I against New Zealand in Hamilton.
The pacer finished with figures of 3-29 in four overs, dismissing Tim Seifert, Michael Bracewell, and Ish Sodhi.
Bracewell was Rauf’s landmark wicket, bowled by Haris in the 19th over. He had earlier removed Tim Seifert before taking the wicket of Sodhi in the 19th over, helping restrict the hosts to 204 in 19.5 overs.
With this achievement, Rauf joins an elite group of Pakistan bowlers, becoming the 24th player to claim 200 international wickets. He follows in the footsteps of legends like Wasim Akram (916 wickets), Waqar Younis (789), Imran Khan (544), and Shahid Afridi (538).
Among fast bowlers, Rauf now sits alongside modern-day pacers such as Shaheen Shah Afridi (345) and Hasan Ali (240).
Since making his international debut in 2020, Rauf has been a key figure in Pakistan’s pace attack, particularly in white-ball cricket. His tally now stands at 201 wickets across formats, with an impressive strike rate of 20.59.
Rauf also took an outstanding catch in the earlier part of the innings, before Hasan Nawaz's heroics sealed the victory for Pakistan.
Pakistan, needing a win to stay competitive in the series, saw contributions from Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abrar Ahmed, who also picked up two wickets each.
