Business partner killed over soured property deal

KARACHI:

A man was killed in a shooting over a transaction dispute in Manghopir on Thursday. The deceased and the accused were business associates in the property trade, and both belonged to the same community and lived in the same neighbourhood. The police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.

Body of the deceased was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was identified as 35-year-old Akram Brohi, son of Muhammad Bakhsh.

SHO Imran Khan said that according to initial investigations, the deceased was associated with the business of buying and selling plots with Waheed Brohi, and there had been a dispute between the two for several days regarding money transactions. Cases had also been registered against each other by the deceased and the accused.

However, during the recent dispute, the accused, Waheed Brohi, opened fire and killed Akram Brohi before fleeing. He said that the deceased had been hit by two bullets in the stomach and hand, while the police found three shells of a 9mm pistol at the scene.

The accused and the deceased belonged to the same community and lived in the same neighbourhood. However, the police are conducting further investigations and raids to arrest the absconding accused.
