
Senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and former senator Hafiz Hussain Ahmed has passed away, his family confirmed on Wednesday.
According to family sources, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed breathed his last at his residence in Quetta after battling a kidney-related illness.
JUI-F also confirmed his demise, expressing deep sorrow and calling his passing a significant loss for the party.
Media reports indicate that Hafiz Hussain Ahmed had been suffering from kidney disease. His family stated that he will be laid to rest in his ancestral hometown, while details regarding his funeral prayer will be announced later.
Hafiz Hussain Ahmed had distanced himself from JUI-F due to internal differences but rejoined the party in December 2022 after reconciling with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
His death marks the loss of a prominent figure in Pakistan’s religious and political landscape.
