Teyana Taylor is taking her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, back to court, accusing him of leaking confidential divorce documents and demanding he be held in contempt. According to court filings obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Taylor claims Shumpert deliberately shared sealed legal documents with the media, leading to misleading reports about their divorce settlement.
Taylor insists that their split was not a "settlement" but rather a court ruling where each party received assets based on judicial decisions. She clarified that she was awarded four properties, while Shumpert received three, including the Miami condo he originally gifted her. She also refuted claims about their vehicle division, explaining that she had purchased a Maybach only after Shumpert crashed, totaled, and abandoned her Rolls-Royce without replacing it.
The drama intensified following Taylor’s viral Oscar night post featuring another actor, which racked up 1.4 million views and over 40,000 comments. Just days later, a "false divorce settlement" story surfaced, and Taylor believes the timing was no coincidence. She accused Shumpert of using their divorce controversy to boost attention for his newly released rap song.
Taylor also revealed that the fallout from these reports subjected her to hate speech and public scrutiny on social media, while Shumpert benefited from trending online. She is now requesting that the court hold him in contempt, sentencing him to 20 days in jail and imposing the maximum fines allowed.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Taylor remains focused on her packed 2025 schedule, which includes appearances at the Met Gala, major brand partnerships with Nike, Jordan Brand, Victoria’s Secret, and Hennessy, and multiple TV and film projects.
