Conor McGregor has once again found himself at the center of political controversy after voicing strong opinions on Ireland’s immigration policies during his visit to the Oval Office. The former UFC champion, who met with Donald Trump and Elon Musk on St. Patrick’s Day, took the opportunity to express his concerns about illegal immigration in Ireland.
McGregor warned his fellow countrymen, stating, “Ireland is at the cusp of potentially losing its Irishness.” His remarks, however, were not well received by Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin, who publicly condemned McGregor’s stance.
In response, Martin took to X (formerly Twitter), writing, “St. Patrick’s Day around the world is a day rooted in community, humanity, friendship and fellowship. Conor McGregor’s remarks are wrong and do not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, or the views of the people of Ireland.”

While McGregor stirred up political debate, he also made headlines for his extravagant fashion choice. The Irishman, known for flaunting his wealth, sported a rare Rolex Daytona Cosmograph in 18K yellow gold with a green dial—nicknamed the "money dial"—valued at approximately $65,000. This particular Rolex model was discontinued a year ago, making it even more coveted among collectors.
McGregor’s love for luxury timepieces is no secret, but his journey to acquiring them hasn’t always been glamorous. Reflecting on his past struggles, he once admitted, “You ever hear this term, you got to fake it till you make it? Before anything, I was getting the fake ones. I was rocking the fake ones like this, but proud.”
Now, McGregor boasts an enviable collection, including the $2.3 million Jacob & Co. Rasputin Diamond Minute Repeater, the $1 million Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette, and the Rolex Day Date 128348RBR worth $87,750. With his sights reportedly set on a potential run for Irish presidency, McGregor’s political aspirations and bold statements are sure to keep him in the spotlight.
