
A police officer was martyred, and five others were injured in a remote-controlled explosion targeting a Counter Terrorism Force vehicle in the Kurrani area of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.
According to local authorities, the blast occurred near a police mobile in the Brewery neighborhood of Quetta. Rescue teams and additional police forces quickly responded to the scene following the explosion.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Brewery Police Station, Mahmood Khoroti, confirmed that the vehicle of the Counter Terrorism Force (CTF) was targeted on Krani Road. The explosion, caused by 2 to 3 kilograms of explosives, led to the martyrdom of one officer and left five others injured.
The blast caused significant damage to the CTF vehicle. Police and other law enforcement agencies collected evidence at the scene and began further investigations.
Dr. Sultan Lehri, Medical Superintendent of Bolan Medical Complex (BMC), stated that six injured individuals and the body of the martyred CTF officer were transferred to BMC.
He said that while six individuals are receiving treatment, three officers are in critical condition.
Rescue workers immediately transported the injured to the hospital, while police officers collected evidence from the site. One police officer was martyred in the blast, and five others sustained injuries. Fortunately, their condition is reported to be stable and out of danger.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyred police officer. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the officer's family and offered his sympathies.
Minister Naqvi also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and expressed his full support and sympathy to both the martyred officer and the wounded individuals.
