Playboi Carti has once again stirred the pot on social media, this time trolling ASAP Relli following Kendrick Lamar’s diss on his latest track. While Carti didn’t contribute any disses on his album MUSIC, he certainly made his feelings known in the wake of Kendrick Lamar's fiery verse.
Lamar took aim at ASAP Relli in his song GOOD CREDIT, rapping, “Belly on chain go big, white gold link fall on the belly / The emerald cuff for hers and his, that b*tch on point like ASAP Relli,” a direct jab at Relli, who had accused ASAP Rocky during a 2021 criminal trial.
Though Carti didn’t initially get involved, he shared a photo on Instagram late Friday night, showing ASAP Relli pointing in court with no caption, signaling his agreement with Lamar’s diss. It seems Carti is all too willing to co-sign Lamar’s stance on Relli, adding his own layer of commentary to the ongoing controversy.
In the midst of the drama surrounding the ASAP Rocky trial, Relli has been outspoken about the toll it’s taken on his life. He spoke out in court, claiming that the trial and public attention had turned his life into a “living hell.”
He shared that he was receiving death threats, even targeting his family, during the high-profile case. Despite his claims, the hip-hop community has largely supported Rocky, with figures like Kanye West and 50 Cent congratulating him after his acquittal. Kendrick Lamar and Playboi Carti now join the list of stars voicing their support for Rocky.
While Relli has had a strained relationship with the industry, his discontent has not gone unnoticed. Playboi Carti, who worked with Relli on the 2017 songs RAF and New Choppa, seems to be weighing in on the ongoing drama, making his support for Rocky known in his own way.
