Gwen Stefani has sparked controversy among her left-leaning fans after sharing a video of Tucker Carlson’s interview with actor Jonathan Roumie, where they discussed Christianity.
The Hollaback Girl singer, 55, who is Catholic, praised the interview on X, writing, “Wow Jonathan Roumie, you are a powerful inspirational human, what an enlightening intelligent beautiful interview thank you for being you gx.” The 90-minute discussion, published on Ash Wednesday, delved into faith and spirituality, with Roumie—best known for portraying Jesus in The Chosen—reflecting on his beliefs.

Stefani’s post quickly ignited backlash, with critics accusing her of promoting Carlson’s show and aligning with right-wing ideology. “Gwen, as a longtime fan, you’re making it harder and harder to keep supporting you,” one user wrote. Another responded, “You honestly need a reality check, God, this is heartbreaking.” Others pointed to her past promotion of the prayer and meditation app Hallow, which costs $70 annually, as further proof of her supposed conservative shift.

Despite the criticism, many fans defended Stefani’s right to express her faith. “He’s a Catholic, and Gwen is a Catholic, and it’s the beginning of Lent. Why can’t everyone just be themselves without all the presumption and judgment?” one user commented.
