Fans of Tyler Perry’s hit Netflix drama Beauty in Black are eagerly awaiting news about a second season.

While Netflix has yet to confirm the renewal, Perry himself all but confirmed it in a recent Instagram post, writing, “YALL AIN’T READY FOR SEASON 2 of #BeautyInBlack!!” Additionally, production crews were reportedly seen filming in Midtown Atlanta in late February, suggesting that work on the new season is already underway.

The first season of Beauty in Black was released in two parts, with the first debuting in October 2024 and quickly climbing Netflix’s Top 10 chart. The second part recently dropped, ending with a dramatic twist that left fans eager for more. The season 1 finale saw Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), a struggling exotic dancer, becoming entangled with the powerful Bellaire family. In a shocking turn, Bellaire patriarch Horace (Ricco Ross) proposed to Kimmie, intending to leave her his wealth and business rather than his own children. This sets the stage for intense conflicts in a potential season 2.

While the Beauty in Black season 2 cast has yet to be confirmed, it’s likely that Williams will reprise her role as Kimmie. Other key cast members expected to return include Richard Lawson as Norman Bellaire, Debbi Morgan as Olivia Bellaire, and Steven G. Norfleet as Charles.

Both parts of Beauty in Black season 1 are currently streaming on Netflix.
