ISLAMABAD:

Colour blindness is a vision problem where a person has difficulty distinguishing between certain colours, especially red and green, says renowned eye surgeon Dr Umair Kidwai. He was explaining the conditions of colour blindness disorder on Saturday.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that this happens when the colour-detecting cells in the eye, called cones, don't work properly. Dr Kidwai noted that colour blindness is usually inherited and passed down through families.

"It is more common in men than women because it is linked to the X chromosome," he added. Dr Kidwai highlighted the different types of colour blindness.
