RAWALPINDI:

A court has sent Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Squadron Leader (retd) Anum Hasan to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand for allegedly forging a divorce certificate to remarry.

Senior Civil Judge Waqar Ahmed Siddhu issued the order after her husband, Squadron Leader Adnan Shamoon, accused her of preparing a fake court divorce decree and a fraudulent Union Council divorce certificate to marry another man, Saad Rafiq.

Shamoon, a pilot stationed at Kamra Air Base, presented evidence to the court, stating that he married Anum Hasan in 2014, and they have three children, six-year-old Zainab, three-year-old Mehrun Nisa, and one-and-a-half-year-old Ibrahim.

On September 21, 2023, Shamoon was sent to Sargodha Air Base for a 10-month course and during his stay there he maintained a regular contact with his wife. However, upon his return, he discovered that his wife was missing and filed a written complaint with the Pakistan Air Force.

During the inquiry, a divorce certificate dated July 31, 2024, issued by the Union Council of Afandi Colony, was uncovered. Moreover, a fraudulent Khula order from Family Judge Muhammad Sarfaraz was also discovered. Further investigations revealed that the divorce certificate and court order she used were forged.

The police registered a case and arrested Anum Hasan. While the police requested a three-day physical remand, the court denied the request and instead sent her to Adiala Jail on judicial remand. She has also filed for bail.
